Healthier You: Protein French Toast


 One of the most difficult parts of any fitness journey is changing your mindset around food. Cutting certain foods out  and incorporating new ones into your diet can be challenging for many people, and that's okay! Here at AstroFlav, we want to help you along your fitness journey by providing you with delicious (and healthy) recipes that will keep you dedicated to your fitness journey while allowing you to enjoy what you eat.

This week's Healthier You recipe is for Protein French Toast. This French toast stack is loaded with protein with a subtle touch of cinnamon for the perfect breakfast delight. This recipe highlights our crowd favorite Cinna Crunch Isolate Protein powder for a Cinnamon Toast Crunch vibe, but healthy! We hope you love this recipe as much as we do!

Protein French Toast

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2-4 slices Dave's Killer Bread (or bread of choice) 
  • 1 scoop AstroFlav Cinna Crunch Iso Protein powder 
  • 1 whole egg 
  • 2 egg white (can sub for 2 servings of liquid egg whites) 
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon 


DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a shallow container or dish, whisk together all wet ingredients: egg, egg whites, almond milk, and vanilla. 
  2. Add in cinnamon powder and scoop of protein powder and whisk until clumps are gone. 
  3. Dip slice of bread in egg mixture and flip to coat each side. 
  4. Cook bread on a nonstick pan on medium heat and flip once browned on each side.
  5. Serve with your favorite toppings! We chose strawberries, blueberries, sugar-free syrup, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
