1. Forget the elevator, take the stairs!

Not only will this add more steps to your day, but also increase your heart rate a bit for a little burn on the way up!

This might sound silly, but setting an alarm on your phone to get up every hour can be extremely beneficial, especially if you're working a desk job. Another option would be to invest in a smart watch. These will give you an alert when you have been sedentary for too long.
3. Hit your nearest shopping mall
That's right... You heard it. Go shopping! Shopping around from store to store makes your step goal even easier to achieve. You don't necessarily have to buy anything either; simply browsing around is also just as effective! Walking up and down every aisle at the grocery store is also another easy way to get those steps in. If you have extra time to spare, try one of these step-focused shopping trips!
4. Plan a walk date with a friend
Ever heard of a "hot girl walk?" TikTok has made hot girl walks a new trend this summer. The idea of a hot girl walk is simply just to get a workout in, listen to a podcast, and wear a cute walk outfit.

5. Make your 9-5 not a sitting 9-5
Office jobs can really put a damper on your 10K a day step goal. However, we can still make this goal happen! Try to walk around the office a few times every hour or stand while doing your computer work. Next time you have to go to the bathroom, use the one on the next floor or across the office!
6. Walk to work OR park farther away
Some of us may have the advantage of living walking distance away from work, but in most cases the commute might be a 10-30 minute drive. If possible, try walking to work for the better option, but if not, park farther away once you arrive! Those extra steps really do add to your step goal so prepare to start leaving the house a little earlier.
7. Walk around the house or building on a work call
Whether working remote or in the office, take a business call while standing or walk and talk around the house! If you're in the office, try standing or walking down the halls. Most remote business calls are done via Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts, etc. (all of which have the audio only function). If you're meeting requires just audio, then get moving around the house or take the meeting outside! As long as your work is getting done efficiently, your step goal can be accounted for as well!
8. Invest in a treadmill desk
This creation was probably one of the best ones yet for working at home. This desk allows you to do everything you need to do on your computer or desk all while walking on the treadmill!
This treadmill desk from Amazon is decently affordable and can be easily stored by folding up and rolling under the couch!
9. Take the pup for a long walk
A way in which you and your furry friend can get your daily steps is by going on a long walk. This will not only benefit your health, but also your dogs! Don't have a dog but have kids? Take your kids to the park and do some laps while they play! A great way to hit your step goal as well as enjoying time outdoors with the ones you love. :)
10. Do some cleaning/yard work
You know that closet full of old toys and clothes you'll never wear again? Or the dust bunnies in every corner and every ceiling fan in the house? It sounds like it's time to get cleaning! Quite easily one of the best ways to get moving around the house, but also just one of those things we keep putting off.
