Birthday Cake Protein Rice Krispies are on the Healthier You recipes this week for a healthy(ish) protein-filled treat! Perfect for a quick pre-workout snack or a yummy sweet treat, these rice krispies will be your new favorite! With Vanilla IsoMixas the star ingredient, we are confident you'll love this recipe!
Melted butter - vegan butter if dairy-free
Mini marshmallows - can use jumbo marshmallows as well or vegan marshmallows.
AstroFlav Vanilla IsoMix - can use your favorite IsoMix of choice, but Vanilla will give a sweet, cake-like taste.
Rice Krispies cereal - base of the rice krispie treats; can also sub for crushed rice cakes.
Vanilla extract
Almond extract
Sprinkles
Saucepan or pot
13 x 9 x 2-inch pan
Non-stick cooking spray
Make sure butter is completely melted before adding in marshmallows.
Stir marshmallows and protein powder until completely smooth; this will ensure there are no clumps.
Add in cups of rice cereal one at a time. This will make it easier to evenly coat the cereal.
Use a rubber spatula to press down into pan to avoid stickiness.
4-5 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
1 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
3-4 TBS reduced fat butter (or vegan butter)
1 scoop AstroFlav Vanilla IsoMix
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Almond extract
Rainbow sprinkles
In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
Once completely melted, add in bag of marshmallows. Stir until completely smooth.
Add in vanilla & almond extract and stir.
Scoop in vanilla protein powder and continue stirring until well combined (no clumps)!
Pour in cups of Rice Krispie cereal cup at a time and mix until cereal is evenly coated.
Using a buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray and top with sprinkles.
Allow to cool and serve when ready to be enjoy (or as a pre workout snack;)!

Marshmallows - can sub for jumbo marshmallows or vegan
Butter - sub for vegan butter orI can't believe it's not butter
Rice Krispie Cereal - sub for crushed rice cakes or any other rice puffed cereal
