Cashew butter - Can also sub cashew butter for almond butter. I found cashew butter to have a sweeter and less nuttier taste.
Maple syrup - Any liquid sweetener will work for this recipe. I have also used honey and it works just as well.
Coconut oil - Helps the chocolate chips melt and also forms a solid fudge base.
Chocolate chips - For a sweeter fudge, you can use sweetened chocolate chips. I used stevia-sweetened chocolate chips for this recipe.
AstroFlav Redefined Chocolate Protein Isolate - Our new, redefined chocolate protein powder to add extra protein and even more fudge flavor.
Medium sized bowl
Square brownie pan
How long does this protein fudge last?
Leftover protein fudge is best stored in the fridge. Refrigerated in an airtight container, it will last up to three weeks. You can also store leftover fudge in a freezer-safe container and freeze it for up to three months.
Can you use plant-based protein powder for this recipe?
This recipe can be enjoyed just as well with a plant based protein powder. Consistency may come out a bit grainer; you will just need a bit more cashew butter!
Can you make this recipe with other nut butters?
Yes! Almond butter and sunflower works just as well and keeps the fudge soft and fudgy! Peanut butter creates more of a peanut-taste; however, it is just as tasty!
Can you make this recipe without coconut oil?
To make this recipe without coconut oil, you will need to add in additional nut butter.
1/2 cup cashew butter
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
1 bag melted chocolate chips
1/2 cup AstroFlav Redefined Chocolate IsoMix
In a medium size bowl, add cashew butter, melted coconut oil, melted chocolate, and maple syrup.
Whisk or stir together until smooth and no clumps.
Add protein powder immediately before chocolate starts to harden. You will have a fudgy brownie batter consistency.
Pour onto a parchment lined brownie pan and smooth the top evenly.
Crush candy cane into small pieces and sprinkle on top.
Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Once chilled and firm, cut into squares and enjoy!
