Healthier You: Vanilla Almond Joy Bliss Balls


 One of the most difficult parts of any fitness journey is changing your mindset around food. Cutting certain foods out  and incorporating new ones into your diet can be challenging for many people, and that's okay! Here at AstroFlav, we want to help you along your fitness journey by providing you with delicious (and healthy) recipes that will keep you dedicated to your fitness journey while allowing you to enjoy what you eat.

This week's Healthier You recipe is for energy bites that taste just like the name suggests: Vanilla Almond Joy Bliss Balls!  These energy bliss balls are filled with healthy fats & a good amount of protein for a quick pick-me-up! This recipe highlights our go-to Vanilla Bean Isolate Protein powder for a yummy bite-sized snack. We hope you love this recipe as much as we do!

Vanilla Almond Joy Bliss Balls 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup quick oats (old fashioned will work as well) 
  • 1/3 cup AstroFlav Vanilla Bean Ice Cream protein powder 
  • 1/2 cup almond butter 
  • 1/3 cup honey 
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract 
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbs unsweetened coconut flakes for topping


DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a medium sized bowl, combine dry ingredients: oats, protein powder, coconut flakes & mix. 
  2. Next, pour in honey, almond butter, and vanilla extract & stir. 
  3. Mix all ingredients together and place in fridge for at least 15 minutes. 
  4. Remove from fridge. Then scoop out of spoonful of the mix, roll into 1" balls, and sprinkle coconut flakes on top. Cover & place in the fridge. Enjoy!
