In order to have a successful and productive day, it all starts with how you get out of bed. It doesn't matter if it's 5 am or 9 am, it has been proven that the way you start your morning aligns with how the rest of your day will go. Mornings are not easy. From the time you open your eyes, your mind instantly becomes flooded with the endless list of to-dos to accomplish that day. Having a structured morning routine everyday will allow you to complete the to-dos, ease up stress, and help you move forward to having a great day!

1. Start the night before
Your morning routine actually starts the night before. Getting to bed earlier and having a good night's rest is going to give you the rest you need and energize you for the day tomorrow. Write a structured plan from the time you wake up with everything you want to get done before you leave for work! If creating a time-specific schedule is too overwhelming, that's okay! Simply just bullet point all of the things you want to get done in order. This way it will be written on paper and serve as a reminder in the morning!
2. Avoid the snooze button
You know that time in between alarms where the sleep just hits a little better.. Hitting the snooze button can actually be negatively impacting your morning routine. It is easy to say "just five more minutes." But that 5 minutes can easily turn into 45 minutes and now you're rushing out the door! Avoid the snooze button and try placing your phone in a spot that is not reachable. This way you will physically get up and go turn it off! Might be a pain, but I promise it'll motivate you to get up and start moving!
3. Have a big glass of water
Drink up! Having anywhere from 8-16oz of water right when you wake up in the morning not only hydrates your body, but also kick-starts your metabolism and avoids constipation. Try drinking a full glass of water before your morning cup of coffee to ensure hydration before you caffeinate!
4. Get some vitamin D
If you have time in the morning to squeeze in a walk, take advantage of it! Walking in the morning will not only get your body moving, but it will also expose you to Vitamin D bright and early! 7. Write out a daily to-do list
Overwhelmed with everything you have to accomplish? Try writing out a to-do list with the most important tasks you want to accomplish at the top! This will allow you to have everything on pen and paper and motivate you to check them off. As mentioned previously, if a structured hourly list is too overwhelming, try writing your schedule in a bullet point list! This way you will have everything you need to accomplish written down, but eases up any stress there might be with hourly planning.

Forming habits may be challenging, but once you have a regular routine, your day is sure to be productive and successful!
