Valentine's Protein Rice Krispie Hearts
ALL YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS RECIPE:
Rice Krispies cereal - Any brand is can be subbed for the OG Rice Krispies cereal.
AstroFlav Strawberry IsoMix - Makes these rice krispies have a nice strawberry flavor and give them a tint of pink coloring.
Mini marshmallows - The key ingredient in this recipe as they add sweetness and stickiness. When marshmallows are melted, like they will be for this recipe, they form a gooey texture that will bind everything together and allow you to make square-shaped rice krispie treats.
Unsalted butter - I used unsalted, and you don’t need to melt or soften anything beforehand. Just toss it into your giant pot on the stove to melt.
Valentine's Day sprinkles
KITCHEN EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR THIS RECIPE
Medium size saucepan
Heart shaped pan or heart shaped cookie cutters
TIPS FOR CREATING PROTEIN RICE KRISPIES
If you’re finding that the ingredients stick to your spoon or spatula too much, simply spritz some non-stick cooking spray over the spoon first.
Press the mixture into a greased pan, flattening down the top. When the Rice Krispie treats mixture is cool you can turn them out of the pan.
You can either serve these as they are or finish them off with some sprinkle decorations. I would recommend fancying up these Rice Krispies with extra sprinkles for some festive Valentines Day treats!
If you do not have a heart shaped pan, you can cut out the shapes with cookie cutter hearts.
